SO THERE!:

Wow. I haven't posted in a long time and probably shouldn't be posting right now. I have been really busy this past week with tests, quizes, and what not... I'm taking a food break right now as I'm writing this.

I just got done with Kendo Club practice and my feet are killing me. After class today around 3:30 I left for Omaha to pick up my Kendo sword...I forgot how to spell it...and some other stuff. Ayako didn't believe in my mad driving skills, so she didn't think I would make it back in time for Kendo practice at 6:00. Oh ye of little faith... I got back early at 5:30 and even had enough time to casually walk to the building and stretch out. Muahahaha. I never let down a challenge!

Well yeah...back to being a whore to my homework...sorry this is all you get and you will like it! SO THERE!

I Think I'm Turning Japanese: I Really Think So...

Hey kids. I'm here talkin' straight from the laptop at the Smith night clerk desk. It is so freakin' early! I'm starting to feel the effects of sleep deprivation, and its only getting worse with each passing minute :/

I just got back from Omaha tonight. I brought along two of my Japanese friends...Ayako and Megumi along for the ride. They got to try out some "real" mexican food at my work (Hector's for you retards out there) and they seemed to like it a lot.

This morning (as in yesterday morning by now) I had to work at Hector's for the lunch shift, and the Japanese students wanted to study anyway, so that gave them just enough time to do so. Then my cousin Blake called me after work and said he wanted to hang out and get some "womanly" advice as to what he should get his girlfriend for their one year anniversery.

So we all went to Oakview Mall and shopped around. I promised myself not to buy anything...and you all know how that never works out...yay for being a consumer whore! We all went into American Eagle and I was helping Blake pick out a few shirts. Then I walked over to see what the Asians were up to and they were looking at shoes. (If you know me by now, you know that I only wear 3 types of shoes). But then I looked at the price. They were origonally $34.00 and they were $20.00 off...I'm not kidding. Yay for $16 pair of shoes including tax! I got an American Eagle gift card last year for Christmas and still had a lot on it, so I bought my shoes and a shirt Ayako picked out. I was going to buy Megumi's shoes, but she must have snuck right by me :)

After our shopping adventure, we then proceeded to Greek Islands on 38th and West Center. If you have never been there and like Greek food, or at least want to try something new....GO THERE! They have really awesome, and the closest authentic Greek food in Omaha. So awesome that my cousin almost choked on his dinner and it scared me half to death. After dinner we went our seprate ways and the rest of us headed back to Lincoln. All in all, it was a good weekend, and I think the Japanese students had a good time :)

Homeward Bound: A Worker's Story:

I'm headed back to Omaha this weekend again. The retards at my work mis-scheduled me...grr! I'll be leaving today after dinner sometime, and maybe a few of the Japanese students might come along too...maybe. On Saturday evening I'll be headed back because I have my first job assignment Sunday morning at 4:00 am to 8:00 am. What's cool is, they unlock the doors at 6:30, and the supervisors just told me to hang around in the back room. They have a T.V. back there, juice and doughnuts in the morning...tee hee!

I have National Society Of Collegiate Scholars Induction this afternoon at 4:00. I'm not really looking forward to it... All that's going to happen is a few boring "influential" speakers will talk about something they care about and how honored we should be to get in. Then they will call of our names off one by one to recieve our awards.

I went to bed at 5:00 in the morning last night (or the morning rather), and somehow I naturally woke up at 10:00, so I decided to take a shower to kill time. My first class isn't until 12:30, so I bet your wondering why in the hell I got up so early? I'm asking the same question...

Happy Naked Unicorn Day:

Well, isn't that just an interesting title? And I bet your wondering what the hell its all about. Well, I'm not going to tell you. Oh alright...jeez...

It all started when Ayako, Megumi, Chiho, and I were watching The Last Unicorn, because they didn't believe that Hayao Miyazaki helped to produce it. Well, during the movie, the unicorn lady fell in love with the prince and at which point I said, "wow, that unicorn is really horny!" Ayako, being the only one who studied English the longest, actually understood my pun and laughed along with me. We then had to explain to the others that "horny" had multiple meanings.

So that's the unicorn part...

Then a couple days later, while watching the bath-house episode in Chobits, I decided to ask Ayako about the proper way to enter a bath-house (in Japan). When I found out that no towels were allowed inside the bath-house I decided to never go to one...ever! Your naked body and soap are the only things permited in the bath-house. You have to be naked to enter and you have to walk all the way back to the locker rooms to dry off...insane! It was then I shouted, "NAKED!" (which is also where my recent away message for AIM came from).

So anyways, somehow everytime we said the word "unicorn" - it meant "horny" and naked meant...well...naked. And so now every 16th day of September shall now be known as Happy Naked Unicorn Day! Details as to how to celebrate this occasion remain un-defined...

Soul Ownership:

So yeah, I got the job as night clerk if any of you care. I was going to be an alternate, but a few people quit, so I got promoted or something like that.

I'm neglecting to do homework now...what else is new? I think I might play Halo or something with the 5th Floor guys. Hott!!! A few of them have asked me out already, and others are still competing for the right to take me on a date...Muahahahaha!!!

Ayako is over here studying right now off of my old Geology notes...I wonder if she can read my handwriting...heh. She has the same class and teacher as I did last semester, so instead of printing all the notes off, that I already did last year, I told her she could use mine. And I didn't even have to pay for my copies either. Back in the day when Mark and I were still dating, he had unlimited copies for his program...and guess what I did...Muahahahaha!!!

So I had to go all the way back to Omaha last night to pick up my passport. In order to get a job with the University, you have to have a birth certificate, social security card, etc. to prove your a citizen or something trivial like that. So, last week when I was in Omaha, I got a noterized copy of my social security card. Then I get back here and go to University Housing to fill out my paperwork. And guess what kids? They wouldn't take it...Bastards! Since I had training the next day, and they wouldn't give me a time card or pay me until my paperwork was completed, I had to make the trek to Omaha. I rather enjoyed the drive, there was no trafic and I had my cruise control on practically the whole way there...damn construction! So anyways, I got my paperwork all filled out, and now the University owns my soul.

Missing Out:

Okay, time for a real post I guess. I'm coming to Omaha this weekend for anyone who cares... I will hopefully see some of you guys. If things work out, Ayako might be coming along with me and whoever else can fit in my truck...hehe.

I'm like a week ahead in all my classes. I have all the assignments done and I don't really need to study for anything. Even so, I feel like I'm missing something or not doing something right. It's a really weird feeling and I don't like it. Maybe I should work on my projects and get them over with as well...

This may shock some of you, but I'm thinking about joining a sorority...Alpha Delta Pi to be exact. Megan and I have gone to a few meetings and we like what we see. They don't have a house, and I guess that makes it kind of nice because it's not as crazy and its also incredibly cheaper...yay! Also, the girls in it aren't your "average" sorority girls...not out to do those "type" of things those girls would "normally" do...if you will... But anyway...Megan already got in already. I was a late-comer, so I'll probably get to bid later on this year...maybe. Its not like they are full or anything...they are always looking for new sisters. Even so, Megan's mom is a legend, so they would have to be stupid not to let her in.

Java Hounds:

My java hounds have successfully tracked down the coding for my site meter. Now I can stalk you all...muahaha!

I went out to find my bike this morning and had a little trouble. Normally I locate my bike by looking at the back tire area. I have a bike fender/mudflap-thingy on the back so mud doesn't splash up all over me...I found that out last year... But anyway, so I'm looking around at all the bikes and can't seem to find my bike amidst the chaos. It finally came to a point where I gave up and was 5 minutes late to my class. During class I thought out where I could have placed my bike over the weekend...because sometimes I do that sort of thing and forget about it. I narrowed it down to only one place...my dorm courtyard area. Sure enough, it was right where I had put it, but without my fender/mudflap-thingy. The whole time it was right there in front of my nose, and I must have looked over it a dozen times. All I wanna know is who would steal something like that? I mean common' people... I could use my java hounds...but I don't think they'd be as successful as I'd like them to be at finding a bike...they are java hounds after all, not bike hounds...

When I find the person riding around with my stolen property, I will punch them off their bike and taekwondo their ass... Fear for your life...whoever you are...

Strong And Brave:

Well, about the job thing...yeah, I have and interview on Sunday at 3:50 for the night clerk job. At this point I'm actually glad I got it. First of all its because its on campus, second of all its an easy job, and third, some of my friends down here are night clerks as well. More on this later...if I get the job that is...

Just got done playing Halo with the Rifle team girls. One of them talked to Adam Sinley on my phone for a while and I think it may have scared him a little bit, but oh well. They met him a week ago when he came down to visit me. I introduced him to the rifle girls and they want him to come to their BBQ parties.

Lately I've been getting to know the Japanese students on my floor. The funny thing about all of them is that they are all Journalism majors. Is it just me or wouldn't Journalism be really hard major if you come from a different country and don't know the language as well? But anyways, they are really cool and fun to hang out with. Most of them speak English pretty well, so they get most of my jokes...hehe. :) They want to go to Omaha with me sometime and see what its like. I tell them its not as cool and fun as Japan, but they don't care...heh. I gave Ayako and Megumi some American names (Allie and Michelle) and they gave me a Japanese name...LIN! It means strong and brave...YAY! :)

Campus Classifieds:

Just sitting here, rocking out to Boogiepop as I type...yay for cool soundtracks!

My mom is trying to make me get a job down here. Eventhough its already the start of the semester, I know things will only get harder than they already are...so I am dreading that fact. My hope is to get a job here on campus. If I get the night clerk job all I have to do is just sit there and open the door as people come in at night because the doors are locked after midnight and you need to scan their I.D.'s to let them in. The sucky part is that you work from midnight to like 4 in the morning. Not that late hours bother me...as most of you know by now, its just that all my nights would feel wasted not being able to hang out with the people in my dorm. Then there is this other job I applied for on campus to work in the Recreation Center. They have a few misc. jobs, so maybe it might work out.

You may have noticed that the site meter has run off somewhere. Alas...during the surgery and transplantation of java from one blog to the next...it was lost. It will eventually make its way back to its home...I have hounds on its scent as you read this.

Fishing Contest:

I'm really neglecting my homework doing this, but oh well...

Went up to the Student Union today to see the girls of Alpha Delta Pi. A friend of mine from Anime Club is a member and she wants me to join. I'm not really a sorority girl, but this sorority doesn't have a house, and they aren't all about getting drunk every night and making out with every boy in a frat. Megan Glover's mom was in the sorority and she's also trying to get Megan and I to join...I don't know yet.

Rather than kicking ass in Taekwondo, Taekwondo is kicking my ass. We better get our uniforms soon, then we will all look spiffy and stuff. Speaking of kicking ass...I just met some really cool girls on my floor. They are on the Rifle team for UNL, which I didn't even knew we had. Apparently someone from UNL took the gold in the Olympics one year, and one of the girls is trying out for the upcoming Olympics...sweet. One girl is from California (Stacy), and the other is from Arizona (Sherri). Poor things, having to come to such a crappy place. But then again, if someone paid me to shoot things, then I would go to their college. :)

We had a best room contest today with 5th floor guys. They rated our rooms and we rated theirs. I busted out my guitar, 27" flat screen, halo on the x-box, and then I had them hook, line, and sinker baby. WE WIN!!!

Chinese Food:

So I went back to Omaha on Saturday for some fun and I had a little. Hung out with the gang at Jason's dorm and talked a while with Adam Sinley and Pat Cambell. The night ended with me falling asleep in front of the T.V. watching some random caveman show on the Sci-Fi Channel.

Woke up on Sunday, went to church with the family. Ting (Sylvia) called me to go out with her and her Cantonese friends for some dim sum (to drink tea) and have a light lunch...which ended up not so light. We went to the only (closely) authentic Chinese place in town. Believe it or not its closer than you think. Its right next door to the Famous Dave's in the Lakeside Plaza. It was deffinately not what I fully expected. For those of you who think Chinese food is Sweet and Sour Chicken or Broccoli Beef...you got it all wrong. Some of the food I tried tasted awesome, and some of it...well...made me want to...yeah...

After my lunch with the Cantonese people, I went home and took a long nap. Then Megan called me and asked if we could hang out, since band owns her soul and this was the only spare time she had in a lond while. So I asked my mom if I could go back to Lincoln, and with some persuasion I got my way...well Megan got her way. I invited the exchange student (Ayako) from Japan, who lives down the hall from me, and we all watched Princess Mononoke. Ayako said it was wierd to watch it in English and believe it or not, Megan liked the movie...well at least that's what she said anyway...
