Solar Flare:I hope you guys like the new layout for the blog. I borrowed a few things here and there from various blog layouts on Blogskins. There still may be a few more changes to it, but its basically how I want it. :) I want to add a picture of a solar flare to it, but I don't know how to host an image on the web so that it shows up on my blog. Do any of you know how to do that?...some of you are members of nerdcore afterall... :)
I've been hearing mixed reviews about Hellboy and Dawn of the Dead. I'm just going to have to see them for myself. Even so, it will give me a break from all the projects I have going on right now. I've been learning to control most of the stress and activities in my life lately...otherwise I wouldn't be blogging like this. But I shouldn't speak too soon...the semester isn't over yet... :

Leftover:So I totally left out somthing important...
For those of you who don't know by now, I joined a sorority...in fact, I was innitiated today. I am now officially a member of Alpha Delta Pi. We're a small sorority (about 20 girls) and we don't have a house. This helps out a lot because the monthy fees are really, really cheap...in fact, we are the cheapest sorority on campus ($60 a month). :) Besides, I don't think I could live in a small space with large amounts of estrogen... The girls in my sorority are incredibly nice. They aren't the usual "dense as a brick" stereotype. One of the members who is now an alumn, was the president for the anime club down here at UNL. That's how I originally heard about the sorority. Last semester Megan Glover and I attended a few meetings, but I wasn't so sure about it then...I had to know what I was getting into. Megan got her bid, she accepted, and was innitiated. (I should also mention here that Megan's mom is an alumn of Alpha Delta Pi...they would have been crazy not to accept her). After thinking it over for a semester and attending a few sorority events, I recieved an invitation to bid for the sorority. Looking back on it now, I really don't have any regrets, and I'm glad I don't have any. So far, so good. We'll see how this goes...

Wow! I actually have time once in my life to blog. Not that it really matters...most of you have stopped reading this blog anyways since the last time I blogged in December...yikes!
Stuff that has happened between then and now...some are more significant, but not really...
New Years Day: My friends and I have come to the realization that our annual New Year's celebration is lame. We sit in a hotel room while our parents drink alcohol we can't have. We get invited to other parties with our other friends, but can't go because of the whole "tradition" thing. Damn. So yeah, we finally convinced our parents that we want to hang out with our other friends from now on. Don't get me wrong, I like hanging out with them, and they like hanging out with me, its just that the three of us aren't much of a party...not to mention the whole lack of alcohol thing, on one of the biggest nights for its consumption.
Gunbound:...is an awesome game. If you haven't played it yet, you should damnit. It's like the old Nintendo game "WORMS," but better. You can play online with tons of people from around the world. I will warn you though, stick to servers 1 through 4 because you will get raped and yelled at by the more experienced players. Peter experienced this. It will take you a couple of games to figure it all out, but once you have it all down, it can be really fun and extremely addicting. This is the game where I met my Gunbound boyfriend, Ralph. Hi Ralph! :) If you decide to play make sure you add me to your buddy list. I have two screen names right now: Picanthropus and Rambo Rachel. You can join a game with me and I can teach you how to play...I'll go easy on you...the first couple of times. :)
Cancun: I went to Cancun with my family over Spring Break. It was also over St. Patrick's Day...which was kind of a doulbe wammy. College students drinking in Cancun on one of the biggest days for alcoholic consumption. Let's just say things were rather interesting on the beach that night. The hotel has rules against nudity and partial nudity, but since the beach is federal property, anything goes...and it definately went. I got a really bad sun burn on the tops of my feet the first day there, and I wasn't a vary happy camper walking around for the Tulum tour. Snorkeling at Xel Ha was beautiful. I think Hawaii is over-rated. It takes longer to get there and is twice as expensive. I'm going to Cancun for my honeymoon...I've decided.
Other than that folks, it was just the usual...homework, projects, and stress. So I'm really sorry that I haven't talked to you all as much in a long time. :(
This summer I'm going to be taking a field school course. The first part, May 17th to June 4th, is at a site in Omaha, so I'll be around in the evenings. Then from June 7th to July 9th, I'll be in Chilicothe, Ohio working for the Hopeton Earthwork mound mapping and excavation program. I'll be earning 9 credit hours and will be done with my Anthropology Major by the end of this summer. :) Then I'll be working on my minors in Art History and Graphic Design for the next two years. I should minor in something else, probably Geology...I have all my other essential studies requirements done as well...except for language...i'll be taking Japanese! YAY! I have a few Japanese friends down here, so I'm not too worried about it...besides, I already know most of the bad words as of now, so I'm in pretty good shape. :)
