Thursday, May 25, 2006 Another Birthday:Well another birthday has come and gone. There's nothing really to look forward to when you're 22... I didn't do a whole lot on the actual day except go out to eat some yummy steak and be forced to ride a saddle in front of the other customers. I also got to partake in some awesome ice cream cake...which happens to be my favorite type of cake. Tonight however a few of my friends and I are hanging out at Dave and Busters for awhile until the midnight showing of X-Men III, which should be pretty good. To be honest, I haven't been to the theatres in quite some time (going out to see Silent Hill being the only exception), because I either had no time to go out, or I was disinterested in the movies that were available. But now that I found some time, I have been able to see a few since graduation. Here are the movies that I happened to be impressed with lately:Da Vinci Code Mission Impossible III Sadly, I haven't played any video games since I moved out of my dorm. I've been waiting to hear from my summer job employees as to when I'll be moving out there. All I know is that it will be soon. I'm going to do some archaeological field work and it should be pretty fun and relatively easy...for me. I got waved off of jury duty for the next two years before they can pick me again. So I guess I don't have to worry about doing that for awhile. And that's about it I guess...
Wednesday, May 17, 2006 Jury and Other Duties:
Another big highlight was that our clan (PMS Clan) was interviewed by Trixie from Xbox.com HERE and a few other various interviews. A camera crew was also following the clan around making a documentary, whether or not I’ll be in the final cut of that is uncertain. The BEST party I attended (in my opinion) was the unlisted Bungie party. It was the best because I found this party to be the most personable party of all the ones I attended, and that was very important to me. This was probably due to the fact that I’m the person who usually favors the smaller, personable parties. You can learn so much more and get to know people a whole lot better at parties like this one. The funnest thing that happened at this party was when I got invited to go and have a burger at In and Out with a group of guys from Bungie. Firstly, In and Out is freaking awesome, and it became even better when I got to share the experience with the guys from Bungie! The group I joined in with were: Jason Jones - the founder of Bungie, Paul Bertone - the Lead Level Designer, Jim McQuillan - the Cinematic/Audio/Animation Producer, and CJ Cowan, the Cinematic Director. Out of the entire group of people I met at the party and got to hang out with, I especially became acquainted with the Cinematic Director, CJ Cowan: I also got my picture taken with Marty O’Donnell along with PMS Fedaykin and Cella: And here’s me visiting the Shishka booth at the expo. (j/k): I got to meet up with my good buddy James this year again and he got me in to check out the Wii. I must say I was rather impressed except for the use of the controller with FPS’s. Supposedly the new controls for the Wii help make the FPS experience better. Instead, I found that it thoroughly confused me for the entire minute in which I was allowed to play it. I’m sure with more practice I would have done much better, but I didn’t think I would take so much to get used to it. James just recently informed me that he landed a job with Insomniac and I must say it’s been long overdue - as in his recognition and service to the gaming industry. Congrats James! Two more highlights were that I got kicked out of a behind scenes viewing of Army of Two at the EA booth because Miyamoto wanted to check it out for himself. Sure, I got kicked out, but if I was going to be kicked out by anybody, I’m somehow honored that it was at least by him. The other highlight was that James and I got a demonstration of the new and upcoming game: Spores given by none other than Will Wright himself! This is another game you must check out, and I know I’m getting a copy for myself for sure. I got interviewed about the game as soon as I exited the viewing area by a gaming media group (I didn’t find out which one), so perhaps you’ll see me around somewhere concerning that.
