Games Galore:

Well hello there,

I think my job at GameStop is a curse. All of my paycheck goes right back into buying games. I usually go for all of the rare games for a particular system, or ones that I know I'll enjoy. Lately I've been on a serious search for all of the horror/thriller action-adventure games like Haunting Ground, Eternal Darkness, Silent Hill's, and Resident Evil's. I almost have them all. I'm still searching for Siren, especially since I heard that a new Siren is coming out for Playstation 3.

Thanks to my gaming addiction and job at GameStop, my game collection has grown since I last updated it. It's been awhile (as you can tell since my last post), but I think I added around 30+ new games across all of the systems I own.

I recently just completed Overlord, and I just gotta say "WOW!" for $20, what a great game! I would have to say it's like a combination between Pikmin and Fable. Now that I've played through the game as a "good" evil overlord, I'm going to play through it again and be really "evil." I haven't tried the multiplayer for the game yet, but I bet it's pretty intense since most of the people that play it are pretty good at the game since it's been out for quite awhile...that and not too many people still play it, so the chance that I'll run into a random person new to the multiplayer is slim to none. Either way, there is an expansion (Raising Hell) already out for the 360, and the game is also coming out with the expansion included for the Playstation 3.

Other games I'm really excited for that are coming out are Soul Calibur IV, Alone in the Dark, Gears of War 2, and Spore. Speaking of Spore, the Spore Creature Creator comes out tomorrow and it retails for only $10! I've been playing around with the leaked trial version and I probably spent all day creating the craziest creatures. I decided to have a little fun with the creature creator and made something a little more familiar: a Chinese Dragon since they are super awesome. Check him out here:

School is out for the summer, and I'm getting somewhat of a nice rest from my hectic grad school studies. I made it through one year of graduate school and now I need to start thinking about a thesis.

Just when I thought I'd have some rest and relaxation from school, I have to go right back into classes again. I'll be taking a field school class in mortuary archaeology in Poland for a month. So if you don't see me on Xbox Live or World of Warcraft you know why. It's going to be scary living without them for a month, but at least my DS Lite and PSP can tide me over for awhile. See you all when I get back in late July!

Well that's all. Until next time!

Well Well...

After being caught up in a whirlwind of activities and adventures, I've finally found a few moments to write.

I'm currently in the Physical Anthropology program at Wichita State University and after the first semester, things are busy, but going rather well. I got a job working here on campus doing work study in the forensic laboratory.

My other job however pertains to games. I recently was hired over the holiday as temporary worker for GameStop. Apparently I must have done something right because I was just promoted to part time and also received a pay raise. I was expecting to take my leave after the holiday, but having another job that is relevant to my interests is quite beneficial.

I've been playing the heck out of Halo 3 ever since the game came out of course, as well as Mass Effect, Guitar Hero III, Scene It, and World of Warcraft. I got my main character to level 70 awhile ago, I can't remember if I wrote anything about it or not. I was an off tank for my guild for quite awhile, but recently, and rather unfortunately, our guild split up. I think I'm going to focus more on PvP and leveling my other characters.

It's a little late to talk about but PAX was a total blast this year. I absolutely loved Seattle and the people who took care of me while I was up there. I had the privilege of hanging out with some of the coolest people Bungie, Xbox, and Microsoft had to offer primarily, and also got to see one of my greatest college friend's James, who works for Insomniac Games.

Well I'd love to chat more, but I have a slew of anthropology text books that need to be read and games that need to be played. I must say it's a lot harder trying to balance my student life with my gaming life, but I knew it was inevitable. I made it through last semester alright, so I don't think I did too bad.

Culture Shock:

Long time no? I didn't have much to write about since nothing has really been going on. I thought I'd spare you all the boring details of my life. However, some new stuff has happened, so I thought I'd write about it.

Well I'm here in my new apartment in Wichita. I finally moved down here and got everything set up, but I'm still hunting for a job. I still think that it's rather funny that I went from being a Cornhusker (UNL) to a Wheat Shocker (WSU). I guess I can't go to schools with "real" mascots.

Haven't done much in terms of gaming other than finally getting my warrior in World of Warcraft to level 70. Sure that's great I guess, but now I need gear... I leveled all my alts to 20, and leveled a few other various characters beyond that on different servers.

Most of you have heard by now since Blizzcon, but Blizzard is coming out with another expansion for World of Warcraft called: Wrath of the Lich King, and it looks totally awesome! If I level one of my other characters on my friend's server, we are going to try and be the first to level 80. We have a warlock and two hunters who are going to try it, so it shouldn't be too hard.

I've been trying out a few demos recently as well. On the list are: Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End, Blue Dragon, Eternal Sonata, and The Darkness. In my opinion, Pirates wasn't all that great. It basically comes down to you mashing the same button over and over again while walking through the movie. I know how excited I was about Blue Dragon before, but once I got to playing it, it wasn't what I thought it was going to be. I thought that the "Dragon Manifestations" were going to be more involved in terms of combat, but they weren't. All the characters are there for is story, and that's kinda boring. I also didn't like the fact that eventhough the characters were supposed to be kids, they had adult voices. It's just my opinion, but don't like playing RPG's where the main characters are little kids, which is why I wasn't too thrilled about Eternal Sonata. Eternal Sonata demo was an absolutely great RPG, it's just that I can't stand the kid aspect. Teenaged characters are where I draw the line. As for the Darkness demo, it was pretty average. It was fun to play, but I think it could have been a lot better. I also think that if I had an widescreen HDTV, I would have maybe appreciated it a lot more.

I've still got my long anticipated reserves for Mass Effect, BioShock, Army of Two and of course Halo 3. I've been trying to see if I can get my reservations transferred down to a Wichita GameStop or EB Games so that I don't have to drive 5 hours up and then 5 hours back to pick up my games. I guess mailing would also be an option, but I'd still have to wait a couple of days either way.

Speaking of GameStop and EB Games, while I was checking to see if I could get my reservations transferred, I mentioned that I was looking for a job and checked to see if they had any openings. Unfortunately they didn't have any openings at EB Games, but one of the managers at GameStop said they might have some seasonal employment for me. I'd mainly be helping out with all the upcoming releases this Fall and Winter, which I really wouldn't mind doing.

What I'd really like to do is maybe get a job bartending someplace. I've done the waitress thing for a couple of years, and I didn't like it all that much. My only problem is that I don't have much experience in terms of bartending. I know how to make quite a few drinks, but not the majority of them. I thought about taking classes, but every bartender I've ever talked to said that classes were a waste of time and money, and that it's better to apprentice for awhile to learn the ropes. I guess I just need to find a place that would be willing to do that for me out here. All I can do for now is keep searching.

Back In The Day...

So I guess I was convinced somehow to post all my old Anime Music Videos I made back in the day. Feel free to laugh up a storm.

That's all I got...or the ones I'm willing to show. The rest are either incomplete or were just experiments with Adobe Premiere.

Help Me:

Well I'm back from falling off the face of the planet...for the time being. School is out and finals are over. Now I can look forward to a summer filled with gaming and more working. Maybe I'll actually get around to finishing games I started awhile back and start playing the games I bought, but never had time to play. I could also get to work on obtaining more achievements for my Xbox 360 games, which are very addicting for some reason.

I haven't bought any new games recently, I've just been trying to play the ones I already have. Mainly I've been playing a lot of World of Warcraft, and somewhat feel ashamed as to how many hours I put into it. I started a new character on Crushridge and Scilla so that I could play with my friends on one server and my clan-mates on the other (see the complete list at the bottom of this post). I don't know if I'm ready to completely switch divisions though, I'm still better at Halo 2 than I'll ever be at W.o.W. What I'm wondering is what will happen to the Halo 2 division of the clan when Halo 3 is released. Since all of the clan matches have been removed from matchmaking, will the clan system even be incorporated into Halo 3? I guess only time will tell.

My Xbox 360 hasn't been played all that much except for Halo 2 practices and the less than frequent Guitar Hero II. Speaking of, I had my dad (who isn't the best at video games, but plays guitar exceptionally well) play Guitar Hero II, and he adapted to it faster than I thought. The funniest thing though was when he said that playing real guitar was easier while playing the game. And in some instances, he may be right.

I recently bought my plane tickets to Washington so that I can go to PAX. The best thing about it was that they were only $200! I had to get my flight out of Wichita since I'll be going to graduate college there in the Fall. I need to write my acceptance letter very soon, as in this week. If anyone has any tips on how to write them, let me know A.S.A.P!

And here is a complete list of the servers and characters I play on:

Burning Blade - (PvP)
Clymene - 52 Tauren Warrior
Maruushi - 35 Tauren Druid
Kariosuru - 18 Tauren Hunter
Demonestra - 17 Blood Elf Warlock
Belrogg - 15 Orc Shaman

Proudmoore - (Normal)
Mayfie - 30 Human Paladin
Amaei - 22 Draenei Shaman

Crushridge - (PvP)
Betrayess - 26 Blood Elf Hunter

Scilla - (PvP)
Amaei - 20 Draenei Mage
Shimshamy - 10 Draenei Shaman

P.S. Help me.

My Hero:

Hello all. It's been awhile...

If you didn't know already, Shivering Isles - the newest expansion for Oblivion is out, and it is totally awesome and totally worth buying. Unfortunately, the only way to get it is through the Xbox 360 marketplace, so if you aren't connected, perhaps you should be! I don't know if you have to have an Xbox Live Gold Membership or not to download items as well, but you should have one anyway!

I picked up my copy of Guitar Hero II the other day and now I already have half of all the achievements. Funny thing is, I've never even played Guitar Hero all that much except for some of the demos in game stores. I attribute my success to the fact that during my study abroad in Japan, almost everyday after class, my friends and I would go down to the arcade and spend our life's savings on Guitar Freaks V and just before we left the V2 edition. Either that, we'd spend sleepless nights playing Step Mania on our laptops instead of memorizing kanji.

Speaking of Xbox 360 achievements, I almost have all the achievements for Crackdown. Finding all the orbs is proving to be quite difficult, and I'm proud that I haven't cheated to find any of them...yet. Finding the last 9 out of 500 is putting quite a strain on my brain.

Anyway, that's all. Later!

<- Me praying to get into a Forensic Graduate Program.

Well finally after two years of waiting and trying, I was just notified today that I've been accepted into a graduate program for Forensic Anthropology. So far, Wichita State is the only one who replied out of the other nine, but at least I got accepted into one, and that's really all I wanted. I really feel like partying...good thing Spring Break is next week, which is also when I'm going down for a college visit. So, now I have two good excuses to have a party at my place next week. Who else wants to join in on the fun?

Not much going on in the game department. I recently purchased Tomb Raider: Legend for the PSP, and I must say I like the Xbox 360 version a lot better. I don't think I mentioned it before, but I did land a copy of Crackdown with an invite to play Halo 3, so that's going to be fun.
I beat the game already, but I still need to go through and get the rest of the achievements and level up my character to his maximum potential. I've been having the most trouble leveling up my driving skill...too many pedestrians in the way. I got a demo for God of War II with my reservation for the game, and I can't wait till I actually get it. I also finally got around to reserving Blue Dragon, BioShock, Mass Effect, and Guitar Hero II for the Xbox 360. BioShock and Mass Effect's release dates got pushed further back, so I guess I'll have enough time to spend with the other games and build up some money.
